Team Leaders

Jacint Jordana

Jacint Jordana Jacint Jordana (Granollers, 1962) is Professor of Political Science and Administration at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and ICREA Academia researcher. From 2004 to 2024 he directed the IBEI. Currently, he is the president. His main area of research focuses on the analysis of comparative public policies from a multilevel perspective, with special attention to regulatory policies and their specialized institutions.

 

Xavier Fernández-i-Marín

Xavier Fernández-i-Marín “Ramón y Cajal” fellow at the Universitat de Barcelona, developing and tailoring solutions for social science research methods, including current developments in Bayesian inference, data visualization, probabilistic programming, experimental designs and machine learning. He has have substantial contributions in comparative politics, public administration, public policy, international relations and psychology. He has worked in the fields of global governance and IGOs, the diffusion of policies and institutions and the processes of development of regulatory agencies. He worked also on Internet and e-Government diffusion and other related aspects of the public management of the Information Society, lately including the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in public administrations.

Katharina Fleiner

Katharina Fleiner Katharina Fleiner is a political economist with research interests at the intersection of the international and comparative political economy of finance and development, and public administration. Her research examines how states respond to global economic challenges through changing forms of inter-state and public-private cooperation, and how these arrangements redistribute power in global economic governance. Her work in particular highlights the role of governance arrangements within state bureaucracies in shaping policy preferences and policy change. Katharina’s work has been published in International Studies Quarterly and the Journal of International Development. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Geneva and an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge. Before joining the IN2PB project as a postdoctoral fellow, she also held visiting and teaching affiliations at the University of California San Diego and the Université Catholique de Lille.

Associated Professor at the Universidad de los Andes, working on regulation of public services, public innovation and procurement.

Christel Koop

Professor of Political Economy at King’s Collegue, London, working on regulation, central banking, and other areas of economic policy-making, with special care in independence, accountability and legitimacy of the technocratic decision-making.

Nir Kosti

Marie Curie Fellow at LMU Munich, working on the growth of regulation, particularly examining the interplay with legislation, and an expert on content-analysis of regulation.

Alexa Lenz

Post-Doc Researcher at Zeppelin University/LMU Munich working on public perceptions of administrative performance.
